The
Milton Rooms is managed for the benefit of the community by the
Milton Rooms Management Committee [MRMC], which is a not for profit
charity aiming to sustain its own operations.
A
huge variety of events take place at The Milton Rooms including:
Music: Late dance
nights, Performers:Malton
Musical Theatre, Ryedale Youth Theatre,
British Stage Sales: antiques, collectors, shoes, books Club meetings
Blood Donor sessions
Board Meetings
Brass Band Competitions
Charity fund raising events
The MRMC is charged with providing the venue
"for the use and benefits of the inhabitants of the Parishes
of Malton and Norton and the surrounding area in the County of
North Yorkshire " .
This is achieved primarily by holding music events and by hiring
the venue to various commercial bodies. The proceeds and hire
fees from these events enables the MRMC to subsidise other charitable
organisations who wish to use the facilities of The Milton Rooms.
The
MRMC receive no annual grants or subsidies.
The
Milton Rooms is sub-leased to the MRMC by Ryedale District Council
who lease the venue from The Fitzwilliam Estate.
The Milton Rooms Management Committee's Constitution was created
on 20th January 1981.
